Analogue animation – creating characters and stories using age-old animation techniques. By going back to the origins of animation we aim to make film-making accessible to all – anyone with pen, paper and imagination. We will start by looking at the amazing illusion of thaumatropes and how we magically merge two images together.

Next we will design and create shadow puppets with moving parts that can then be used to act out stories on the overhead projector. While these workshops are often aimed at children the varying levels of activities provide challenge and enjoyment for all ages (the parents often get just as involved and stuck in!).

Please note, there are two sessions: 10.30am-12.30pm & 1.30pm-3.30pm.
